HC Deb 16 February 1899 vol 66 cc1098-9
COLONEL SAUNDERSON (Armagh, N.)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster-General, whether he can give any information as to the cause of the delay in proceeding with the erection of a new post office in Lurgan?

MR. HANBURY

Such high prices have been asked for suitable sites that it has not been practicable hitherto to put forward any scheme which would not involve a much larger expenditure than the amount of the post office business in the town would warrant. Recently the price of one of the sites has been reduced, and the Board of Public Works is considering' whether a building can be put up within the limit of cost which could be justified.
