HC Deb 16 February 1899 vol 66 c1080
SIR JOHN LENG (Dundee)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the large number of persons interested in the administration of the Factory and Workshops Acts, he can arrange that the orders and regulations made by him under those Acts, and now laid upon the Table of the House, shall be circulated along with the other Parliamentary Papers for the information of its Members?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT

I should be glad to make the arrangement suggested if I thought it would be of any material service to the honourable Member or others interested in Factory Orders. But in addition to the fact that these Orders are put on sale immediately they are made and are readily obtainable at a cost of usually one halfpenny each, lists of them are periodically circulated with the votes and proceedings of the House, and the substance of them is published in the London Gazette and in the Labour Gazette issued by the Board of Trade. I can also promise that if any Member of the House finds it convenient to apply to my office for a copy of any of these Orders he will be readily supplied with one.
