HC Deb 16 February 1899 vol 66 c1093
MR. MACALEESE (Monaghan, North)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade has his attention been drawn to a resolution passed unanimously by the Clones Urban Council, county Monaghan, calling for the erection of a high level bridge over the Great Northern Railway at that town, and asking that, pending the erection of such bridge, all necessary shunting of wagons should be performed either above or below the existing level crossing; and whether he proposes to take any steps in the matter?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE

The Board of Trade have no power to order a bridge on the ground of inconvenience at the crossing.
