MR. BRYN ROBERTSI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the large increase in the jurisdiction of the county courts since the salaries of the judges were fixed, Her Majesty's Government have considered the reasonableness of introducing legislation which will enable their salaries to be adequately increased; and whether Her Majesty's Government will introduce legislation to extend without limit, or at any rate very largely, the jurisdiction of the county courts, but so that such extension should be exercised only by specially selected judges sitting at special courts.
