§ MR. CAREW (Dublin, College Green)On behalf of the hon. Member for the St. Patrick Division of Dublin, I beg to ask the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he is aware that the local authority for the county borough of Huddersfield have made a regulation that after the 26th July, 1899, no swine 1289 shall be moved into the county borough of Huddersfield from Ireland; and whether he will endeavour to have this regulation rescinded.
MR. LONGI have seen the regulation to which the hon. Member refers. It is made under similar circumstances to those which led to the making of the West Riding regulation with regard to which the hon. Member questioned me on Tuesday, and the answer I then gave is equally applicable on the present occasion.
