HC Deb 20 April 1899 vol 70 c36
COLONEL KENYON-SLANEY (Shropshire, Newport)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether it has yet been determined to grant blood money to British officers serving with the Egyptian army in the Soudan, in respect of wounds involving loss of limb or equivalent injury, which have now in some cases been unrecognised for more than a year; and, whether he is aware that the necessary treatment has entailed heavy pecuniary expenditure on some of the sufferers?

MR. POWELL WILLIAMS

The matter is still under consideration.

COLONEL KENYON-SLANEY

Can the honourable Gentleman answer the second part of the Question? I am sure it deserves consideration.

MR. POWELL WILLIAMS

I will make inquiry as to that.
