I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he can state what progress has been made towards the construction of the proposed railways from Letterkenny to Burton Port and from Buncrana to Cardonagh under the Railways (Ireland) Act, 1896.

Satisfactory tenders for the construction of these railways have been received, and it is hoped that the work will shortly be put in hand.
