HC Deb 24 May 1898 vol 58 c550
MR. FIELD

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that the Chamber of Commerce of Dublin and the Chamber of Commerce of Belfast are desirous to have the Irish Lights Board reconstituted, and whether the Government will bring in a Bill for that purpose; also whether the Government intend to bring in a Bill to reform the existing Irish Lights Board, or whether it will assist any Private Member's Bill for such reform?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE

The Chambers of Commerce of Dublin and Belfast have presented memorials to the Irish Government in favour of the reconstruction of the Irish Lights Board, but I am not prepared to bring in a Bill for that purpose, nor to promise support to a Bill which I have not seen.
