HC Deb 23 May 1898 vol 58 c340
MR. LUTTRELL (Devon, Tavistock)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether in a rural parish the parish meeting have exclusively the power of abandoning the Lighting and Watching Act of 1833, assuming that the Act has been in force for over three years in the parish?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD

The question is not one which I have any jurisdiction to determine, but if the facts whim have suggested it are submitted to the Local Government Board the matter will be considered by them.
