HC Deb 16 May 1898 vol 57 c1371
MR. BROOKFIELD

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether it is the case that a force of about 1,200 garrison gunners is now on its way to China; and, if so, whether this force is destined for service in Hongkong or elsewhere?

MR. BRODRICK

The garrison of Hong-kong is being reinforced, but the honourable Member has been misinformed as to the number of men.
