HC Deb 12 May 1898 vol 57 c1081
MR. BROOKFIELD

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether he can conveniently state to the House whether one battalion of the Highland Light Infantry and another of the Yorkshire Regiment have been selected for service as part of the garrison of Wei-hai-Wei? In putting this Question I wish to point out that the words "as stated in Reuter's telegrams" were originally included in the Question, but were struck out by the Clerk at the Table.

MR. BRODRICK

No selection of regiments for service at Wei-hai-Wei has been made.
