HC Deb 12 May 1898 vol 57 c1080
MR. BRIGG

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consider the desirability of limiting the penalty for refusal to vaccinate to a maximum of 5s., including costs, as is now the case with regard to penalties payable by defaulting parents under the Education Act?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD

My right honourable Friend has asked me to reply to this Question, and I have considered it, but the cases are by no means analogous; and I see no reason for taking the course suggested by the honourable Member.
