HC Deb 10 May 1898 vol 57 c845
MR. BAYLEY (Derbyshire, Chesterfield)

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board if, under the Government Vaccination Act, the guardians refuse to find money for the prosecutions ordered without their consent by the Local Government Board, what proceedings, if any, will be taken against the guardians to compel payment?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. H. CHAPLIN,) Lincolnshire, Sleaford

I am not prepared to assume that a board of guardians will refuse to pay any expenses which may be legally payable by them, and I cannot undertake to answer the hypothetical Question of the honourable Member.
