§ Order of the Day for adjourned Debate on Second Reading read.
§ DR. TANNERI object.
§ MR. W. O. CLOUGH (Portsmouth)I hope the honourable Member will withdraw his objection.
§ MR. J. SAMUEL (Stockton)I believe several honourable Members who are interested in this Bill are not now present.
§ MR. MACARTNEYI would also appeal to the honourable Member not to press his objection. This is a purely administrative Bill, and the subject-matter is not in the least controversial.
§ MR. J. SAMUELI think the honourable Gentleman cannot be aware that there are several honourable Members who wish to be heard on this Bill, and they are not here.
§ MR. CLOUGHI think the honourable Member for Stockton must be referring to a Motion which stands on the Paper in my name dealing with the Greenwich Hospital Pension Fund. This Bill does not touch that at all.
§ MR. J. SAMUELIf that is so, I have nothing further to say, but the Bill could just as well be taken some other night.
§ DR. TANNERI object.
§ Second Reading deferred.
§ House adjourned at 12.10.
