HC Deb 03 May 1898 vol 57 c173
MR. F. CAWLEY (Lancashire, S.E., Prestwich)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether the decision of the referee in the test case, Levinstein v. Meister Lucius and Bruning, for a compulsory licence, under setion 22 of the Patent Act, 1883, and which was promised on 29th March, in a few days, has yet been given?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. C. T. RITCHIE,) Croydon

Yes, Sir. The referee has recommended the grant of a licence on certain conditions, too long to explain at this moment, but which I shall be glad to show the honourable Member. I propose to act on his recommendation.
