HC Deb 02 May 1898 vol 57 cc21-2
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, if he will state to what extent the opening of the Aviemore section of the Highland Railway is expected to expedite the transit of the Stornoway mail?

MR. HANBURY

The Highland Railway Company have not yet informed the mail trains to and from the north of Postmaster General to what extent the Scotland will be expedited by the use of the new Aviemore line, but they have been asked to furnish time tables for consideration as soon as possible.
