HC Deb 31 March 1898 vol 55 c1504
MR. H. O. ARNOLD-FORSTER (Belfast, W.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether any steps have been taken for the national insurance of British merchant ships against war risk in the case of war with a maritime Power; and, if not, whether he will consider the propriety of submitting the question to the Committee of Defence or other properly constituted authority?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

I have received a communication from my hon. Friend on this subject, but as yet have had no opportunity of considering it.
