HC Deb 30 March 1898 vol 55 c1360
*SIR C. DILKE (Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean)

I beg to give notice of the following Motion— That the conduct of foreign affairs during the last twelve months has shown that it is not in the interest of this country that the office of Prime Minister and that of Foreign Secretary should be combined in one person. I propose on the Motion for the adjournment of the House to-day to ask the Government whether they think it is for the public interest that the House should be given an opportunity of debating and dividing on this Motion.
