FARRELLI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, can he state the number of purchase proceedings as to estates which at present are pending in the Cavan portion of the union of Bawnboy; and also in how many cases the title to estates has been found to be so defective that the proceedings had to be dismissed?

GERALD BALFOURThe records of the Land Commissioners do not specify the Poor Law Unions in which holdings are situate, and it would not be possible to give the information asked for in regard either to a particular union or portion thereof. If the hon. Member desires to have the information for the entire county, I will endeavour to obtain it.
