HC Deb 25 March 1898 vol 55 cc922-3
MR. O'KELLY

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he will place in the Tea Room of the House of Commons a map of China, showing the territory in the actual occupation of Germany, and also the territory which is claimed by the German Government as its sphere of influence?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

We have no official map such as the hon. Gentleman desires, and I am afraid it is impossible to comply with his request.

MR. W. REDMOND

Can the right hon. Gentleman see his way, for the convenience of Members, to have a map made showing how much of China has been taken by Germany, and how much by France and by Russia, and whether any has been left to the Chinese at all?
