§ MR. J. P. FARRELLI beg to ask the Attorney General for Ireland whether his attention has been called to the working and management of the Edgeworthstown Loan Fund Society; whether he is aware that the treasurer proved a defaulter and committed suicide, leaving the affairs of the society in a state of inextricable confusion; that its business was carefully examined by the officer of the central board; and may those investors who were robbed by the defalcations now hope for any redress from the Government?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOUR (who replied)At the request of my right hon. Friend I will answer this Question. I replied very fully to a Question in similar terms addressed to me by the hon. Member for North Longford on the 23rd February last year. To that reply I have nothing to add.
