HC Deb 18 March 1898 vol 55 c239
MR. M. YAUGHAN DAVIES

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether he is aware that there is no telephonic communication between some of the coastguard stations on the west coast of Wales; and whether the Postmaster General will take steps to provide such communication?

MR. HANBURY

So far as the Coast Communication Scheme for the saving of life is concerned, the Postmaster General is only aware of two coastguard Stations on the west coast of Wales, namely, Llangranog and New Quay, which remain to be connected by telephone, and he hopes to be able to provide communication between them in the course of the next financial year. If the hon. Member has any suggestion to make in regard to the scheme perhaps he will communicate with the Postmaster General.
