Resolutions reported—
That it is expedient to provide for defraying the Expenses of the Purchase of Land and Buildings, and the construction of Buildings and Works in connection with certain Public Departments, and to authorise the issue, out of the Consolidated Fund, of such sums, not exceeding in the whole £2,550,000, as may be required by the Commisioners of Works for such purposes, and to authorise the application of the surplus of income above expenditure for the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1898, to the extent of £2,550,000, to the payment of any sums hereby authorised to be issued out of the Consolidated Fund.
§ Ordered, that a Bill be brought in upon the said Resolution, and that Mr. Akers-Douglas, Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Mr. Hanbury do prepare and bring it in.
