HC Deb 18 March 1898 vol 55 c237
MR. E. A. GOULDING (Wiltshire, Devizes)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether it is the intention of the Government to carry out strictly the notice to quit at Michaelmas next which has been served on their tenants on the Salisbury Plain; and, if not, whether, in view of the prejudicial uncertainty that now exists in the minds of the tenants, they will intimate without delay their decision in each case?

MR. BRODRICK

Negotiations are now proceeding with the tenants who are under notice to quit at Michaelmas next for continuing their tenancies, and the conditional terms and rentals will very shortly he submitted to them. It is hoped that a satisfactory understanding will in most cases be arrived at.
