HC Deb 18 March 1898 vol 55 c241
MR. W. W. CARLILE (Bucks, N.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Government intend to take measures to obviate the deadlock that now exists in the Irish Land Courts, owing to the difference of opinion between the Courts and the Land Commissioners' Courts in the working of the 40th Section of the Land Law (Ireland) Act, 1896?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I have already replied to a similar Question addressed to me on the 25th February by my right hon. and learned Friend the Member for Dublin University. The Government do not apprehend a deadlock.
