HC Deb 03 March 1898 vol 54 c479
MR. PATRICK O'BRIEN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, whether it is intended to give the county councils or the other bodies proposed to be set up in Ireland under the Local Government Bill control of the sea or inland fisheries; and, if not, whether the Government would be willing to have its powers amplified in that direction?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

The matter would appear to be one proper to be discussed when the Bill is under consideration by the House, and I am not prepared, at present, to make any statement upon it.
