DALYI beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether he has received a memorial from the inhabitants of Tullynamalrow and district, Castleblayney, requesting that Miss Flanagan be appointed a postmistress; and whether he can state what line he intends to take with respect to the desire of the memorialists in this case?
§ MR. HANBURYYes, Sir; a memorial was received, asking that a sub post office might be established at Tullynamalrow under the charge of Miss Flanagan. The hon. Member himself wrote to the Postmaster General last December, in 271 support of the memorial, and was informed that the correspondence for the district was too small to warrant the establishment of such an office, but that arrangements had been made for extending the free delivery of letters to a number of places in the neighbourhood previously unserved.
