HC Deb 21 June 1898 vol 59 cc957-8
MR. P. O'BRIEN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will lay the map of Ireland showing the proposed new boundaries of unions, district councils, and county boroughs upon the Table of the House?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I will give instructions to have a map prepared on the scale of 20 miles to the inch, which will be a convenient size for distribution, and at the same time will, I hope, show with sufficient accuracy the proposed alterations of boundaries. This map will in some respects differ from that which has been exhibited in the Tea Room, the modifications being intended to meet certain objections raised in Committee to the original scheme.

MR. M. HEALY

Can the right honourable Gentlman arrange that the map shall show not only the new but the existing boundaries?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

Yes; I think it will show that with sufficient clearness.
