§ MR. YOUNG (Cavan, E.)
On behalf of the honourable Member for South Mayo, I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will lay upon the Table of the House all such portions of the minutes of the proceedings of the Commissioners of National Education in Ireland as have reference to the new rules on teachers' pensions dated 22nd November, 1897?
§ THE CHIEF SECRETARY TO THE LORD LIEUTENANT OF IRELAND (Mr. GERALD W. BALFOUR,) Leeds, Central
407 The minutes of the proceedings of the Commissioners are necessarily incomplete without a reference to the communications that passed between the Commissioners, the Irish Government, and the Treasury in reference to the new pension rules. The entire correspondence is regarded as confidential, and the Government do not propose to lay it on the Table of the House.
