HC Deb 14 June 1898 vol 59 c219
MR. ALLHUSEN (Salisbury)

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether, out of the moneys voted by Parliament for the erection of public buildings, he can set aside a sum sufficient to complete the decoration of the Whitehall front of the Home Office buildings, in accordance with the original design?

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. A. AKERS-DOUGLAS,) Kent, St. Augustine's

I do not think that it is possible to set aside any of the money provided by the Public Buildings Expenses Act of this Session for the completion of the Whitehall front of the Home Office buildings?
