HC Deb 10 June 1898 vol 58 c1306
MR. PROVAND (Glasgow, Blackfriars)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the Admiralty have considered the advisability of making a naval depôt and coaling station at Esperance Bay, Western Australia; and, if so, what decision has been come to?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (Mr. G. J. GOSCHEN,) St. George's, Hanover Square

The Board of Admiralty do not propose to establish a naval depôt at Esperance Bay.
