§ MR. PIERPOINT (Warrington)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether a resolution of the Legislative Council of Cyprus, concerning the construction of a railway and a harbour in the island, has been received; and, if so, whether he has come to any decision on the matter?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIESThe resolution referred to has been received. I am now arranging for an examination of the question by engineering experts, upon receipt of whose reports Her Majesty's Government will be in a position to decide whether the works should be proceeded with.
