LEGH (Lancashire, Newton)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether, in reply to a request from the urban district council, the postal authorities undertook in May, 1897, to establish a telegraph office at Billinge, and if he can state when this will be effected?
§ MR. HANBURYIt is the case that the Postmaster General, in May, 1897, arranged to establish a telegraph office at Billinge. There is a difficulty with regard to way leave in connection with the extension. As soon as this is adjusted instructions will be given for the work to be proceeded with as quickly as possible.
