LOUGH (Islington, W.)On behalf of the honourable Member for the St. Patrick Division of Dublin, I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that a prosecution, for the worrying of sheep within the Metropolitan district of Stillorgan, recently took place in Kingstown before the Recorder, with 830 the result that damages were obtained; and whether he can state if any instructions have been issued to the constabulary and Metropolitan police to endeavour to prevent the injury so caused to stock owners?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe facts are as stated in the first paragraph. The police have instructions to seize all unmuzzled dogs found in a public place, and in the Metropolitan police district alone over 6,000 dogs have been seized during the past two years.
