HC Deb 14 July 1898 vol 61 c957
MR. FIELD

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether it is intended by the Government to impose a countervailing duty on all agricultural produce assisted with bounties imported into Great Britain and Ireland?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. J. CHAMBERLAIN,) Birmingham, W.

I am not aware of any such intention, but the honourable Member should address himself to the Chancellor of the Exchequer.
