HC Deb 05 July 1898 vol 60 cc1121-2
MR. JEFFREYS (Hants, Basingstoke)

On behalf of the honourable Member for South Glamorgan, I beg to ask the Attorney General if he will state the date on which the county court at Barry, in the county of Glamorgan, is to be opened; and what is the reason for the continued delay in the commencement of county court business there?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir R. WEBSTER,) Isle of Wight

On the 7th March last an Order in Council was made establishing a county court at Barry as from the 1st July, but by a subsequent Order passed on the 19th May its operation was postponed until the 1st October, because, on the information before the Lord Chancellor, proper courts and offices could not be got ready by the 1st July.
