HC Deb 04 July 1898 vol 60 c940
MR. PIRIE (Aberdeen, N.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether, seeing that the appointment of the Joint Committee of both Houses, which has now been agreed to by the Government since 12th May, to inquire into the establishments of the Houses of Parliament, ought, in view of the desirability of an inquiry taking place during the present Session, to be appointed without any further delay, he will bring the question prominently before the Lord Chancellor in order that the matter may proceed?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

The question is under consideration, and I hope it will be proceeded with without any undue delay.
