HC Deb 01 July 1898 vol 60 c806
MR. TULLY (Leitrim, S.)

I beg to ask the Attorney, General for Ireland whether, in the case of sanitary expenses on contributory areas in rural districts, one-half of the rate for which is at present paid by the landlord, he can state if clause 45, sub-section 2, of the Local Government (Ireland) Bill will alter the liability of the landlord in these cases to pay the sanitary rate now levied with the poor rate?

MR. ATKINSON

If the honourable Member will refer to sub-clause 8 of clause 90, he will see that the ultimate liability to these charges of the landlord and tenant respectively is not altered by the Bill.
