§ MR. A. F. JEFFREYS (Hampshire, Basingstoke)I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether, by the new rules issued by the Local Government Board last month, all parish meetings for the election of parish councillors must be held on one day only, namely, Monday, 14th March; whether the annual parish meetings of parishes which have not got councils are also only to be held on that particular day; whether he is aware that the Local Government Act of last Session enacted that the annual assembly of the parish meeting should be held on some day between the 1st day of March and the 1st day of April; and, by what power the Local Government Board have now fixed that this annual meeting shall be held on one particular day?
