HC Deb 15 February 1898 vol 53 c638
SIR CHARLES CAMERON (Glasgow, Bridgeton)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether the attention of the Scottish Education Department has been called to the action of the English Department in appointing female sub-inspectors of education, and the satisfaction expressed try that Department as to the results of that experiment; and when the Scottish Department will consider the desirability of instituting a similar experiment in connection with Scottish education?

THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. GRAHAM MURRAY,) Buteshire

The question of the appointment of Female sub-inspectors has been considered by the Scottish Education Department, but it has not been thought that the circumstances of Scotland rendered such an appointment expedient.
