§ MR. BRODRICKThe effective strength of the two Battalions Rifle Brigade now at home is, including the Depôt, 1,524. They are 158 short of establishment, owing to the large number of casualties in the 3rd Battalion, now on the North - Western Frontier of India, in which 102 deaths occurred during the four months ending 31st December last, besides a considerable number of men invalided.
