HC Deb 11 August 1898 vol 64 cc904-5
MR. CHANNING

I beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether, having regard to the recommendations of the Tuberculosis Commission, and the necessity of having a pure uniform supply of tuberculin of uniform quality for those who may wish to use it for testing their herds or dairies, he will have arrangements made at the Local Government Board Laboratory for the preparation of a limited supply of pure tuberculin; and whether he will arrange that such tuberculin shall be obtainable by veterinary surgeons or stockowners and dairy farmers under suitable regulations either gratuitously or at a reasonable charge to cover expenses?

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE

Perhaps the honourable Member will allow me to answer this. In reference to the first paragraph I have to say that the Local Government Board cannot make any such arrangements as are suggested therein. With reference to the second1 paragraph, I am afraid that I cannot add anything to what I stated on the subject when the honourable Member addressed a similar Question to me a few weeks ago.
