HC Deb 09 August 1898 vol 64 c651
MR. JONES (Carnarvon, Arfon)

I beg to ask the Vice-President of the Committee of Council on Education whether the Central Education Board of Wales is a body which, with the concurrence of the county governing bodies, could be recognised under clause 7 of the directory as responsible for science and art instruction, in Wales?

THE VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL ON EDUCATION (Sir J. GORST, Cambridge University)

The Central Education Board for Wales would, as the intermediate education authority, be recognised by the Department under the express provisions of clause7.
