HC Deb 09 August 1898 vol 64 c657
MR. McCARTAN (Down, S.)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty whether his attention has been called to MacLaine's patent perfect safety battleships; and whether, considering the serious loss of life incident to modern naval warfare, he will have the plans and construction of these battleships carefully examined with a view to their possible introduction into Her Majesty's Navy?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE ADMIRALTY (MR. G. J. GOSCHEN, St. George's, Hanover Square)

If the plans are sent to the Admiralty they will be carefully examined.
