HC Deb 29 April 1898 vol 56 c1526

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate if he will state what quantities of seed potatoes have been given by the Congested Districts Board (Scotland) to townships in congested districts; and will he also state the quantity of potatoes which have been purchased from the Board, and the names of the respective townships to which they have either been given by the Board for free distribution or sold?

Arrangements for distribution of seed potatoes and seed oats have been under the immediate charge of a committee of the Board, and some experiments of limited extent are in process of being carried out. They have, however, not yet reached a stage which admits of any specific announcement being made.
