HC Deb 29 April 1898 vol 56 c1537
CAPTAIN DONELAN

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if he can state the number of students at present in training in the Marlborough Street and Kildare Place colleges; how many of these students were respectively principals, assistants, pupil teachers, or monitors previous to entering these colleges, and how many were only pupils at National schools; and whether he can also state the number of candidates who have been refused admission to these colleges after completing their five years' term as monitors and passing their final examination?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

It would not be convenient to give the detailed information desired by the honourable Member within the limits of a reply to a Question, and I have, therefore, privately communicated the figures to him.
