§ MR. HEDDERWICKI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies (1) whether Wagadugu, in the Mossi district of West Africa, is within the British sphere recognised or claimed; (2) whether it is now occupied by a French post; and (3) whether there is any foundation for a recent report to the effect that the French have been fortifying it, or have strengthened their forces there by an addition of infantry, cavalry, and guns?
§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIESThe answer to the first two Questions is in the affirmative. I have received no information in the sense of the third.
