HC Deb 21 April 1898 vol 56 c667
MR. VESEY KNOX

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland what action the Commissioners of National Education have taken or have determined to take in respect of the new pension rules?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

The Commissioners have received an assurance from the Treasury that the making of deductions from the teachers' salaries in accordance with the new pension rules will not prejudice any rights which the teachers may have in the event of the rules being pronounced invalid, and the Commissioners have arranged to make the deductions in accordance with the rates of premiums laid down in the rules.
