I beg to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he can state approximately the total annual cost of maintenance of the squadron on the Australian Naval Station; and what proportion of that cost is borne by the Mother Country and British Australasia respectively?

The total cost of the squadron is £300,000 annually, and the contribution of the Australian Colonies is £91,000.
