I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education (1) if he could state what was the nature of the Inspector's report who was sent in June 1896 to interview the Llangollen School Board as to the acquisition of land for a playground scheduled in an Act passed the previous year; and (2) whether the change which took place in the views of the Education Department between September 1896 and March 1897, as to the quantity of land required in the interests of educational efficiency, was brought about by any now evidence being submitted as to the requirements of the school in question?

The Inspector reported that more playground was required, and advised that the Board should he pressed to acquire the whole of the land scheduled. The answer to second Question is in the negative.
